Patient Stories

I know I have said that I was going to give an update as to what the results were from the follow-up MRI regarding the cavernoma that was discovered and removed from my right temporal lobe of my brain in November of 2004.  I apologize it has taken this long but here it goes.  The MRI came back clear and my neurosurgeon has given me a clean bill of health.  I am very pleased as well
as my family and friends.  It has now been a year since my first and only seizure that happened on October 18th 2004 and my surgery took place November 2nd 2004.  Wow!  I cannot believe that time has flown by very quickly and I feel pretty good as if nothing ever happened.  However, there is not a day that goes by that I don't stop and think of what of what I went through and I am very thankful and fortunate that I am alive.  I hope and pray that anyone going through the same thing or even any kind of sickness gets out of it and survives.

I am still taking the anti-seizure medication (tegretol/carbamazepine) on the orders of the neurogsurgeon... I guess for the scar tissue to cause any disturbance. For how long?  I'm not sure.  I will have to update you another time   I feel great and I am glad.  Take care for now and don't hesitate to contact me if you have questions.

P.S.  I am still working and I am taking night school to prepare for entrance to the University of Toronto one day.
